Probiotics and prebiotics
WHO - World Health Organization defines probiotics as living organisms that, when administered in adequate amounts, have a beneficial effect on the health of the host.
The probiotic cultures we use are tested and safe friendly bacteria that naturally inhabit the human digestive tract. In general, probiotics are understood as substances that positively influence the development of the intestinal microbiota.
Prebiotics support friendly gut bacteria. They help in all parts of the gut, both small and large. In the large intestine, they also increase butyrate production. Butyrate is a very beneficial substance for our body. It also serves as a source of energy for the cells of the intestinal mucosa, thus helping to restore its integrity.
The ratio of fructooligosaccharides and inulin in the product has a strong positive effect on immunity and the intestinal microbiome. Inulin is a low-calorie fibre from chicory root that contributes to proper digestion and is a favourite food of friendly bacteria in the gut. Among other things, Inulin is also an excellent sugar substitute, helping with weight loss and elevated cholesterol and blood glucose levels.
